Jack Russell Retrieved
Vera fell down the well, landing on a ledge, while out for a walk with her owner in Stretton, Burton-upon-Trent. A firefighter was lowered into the well and then abseiled down to where Vera was perched on a ledge and was able to pick her up. A fire and rescue spokesman said the dog was unhurt and happy to be back with her owner. (June 1, 2009) —Photo credit not given in article
