Frisky Horse Rescued on Back
Morris needed rescuing by firefighters [crews from Partridge Green, Storrington and Worthing] after pitching off owner Laura Bigwood before sliding into the muddy hole in the ground. After narrowly avoiding being crushed or drowned, she dialled 999 as she saw Morris was stuck. He then spent an undignified hour on his back, legs pointing skywards, as firefighters used heavy lifting gear to extract him. (April 15, 2009) —Photo: INS
