Puppy Rescued … from Sofa
Firefighter Chris Gowler explained: “The puppy and the owners were all very calm which was good, but when the wire cutters didn’t work we had to cover up the puppy and use compressed air cutting equipment. It’s nice to help in this type of situation because the people involved are so concerned. I’ve rescued a few puppies before but never one trapped in a sofa – that’s a first!” Kate, who bred the litter from their family dog Blue, added: “The fire department were wonderful. We didn’t know whether we should call them out but Jo, who owns the puppies’ father, Jack, said they come out for kittens up trees, so why not puppies in sofas?” (May 13, 2009) —Photo credit not given in article
